Wineries participate in three events in New York, focusing on the final consumer, until the end of June. The first one took place last Saturday (12), with a tasting of wines and sparkling wines
Until the end of June, the city of New York, in the United States, will be the stage of three events to attract even more attention from consumers of the largest North American city to Brazilian wine. The first, named Brooklyn Crush – Spring, took place last Saturday (12), with a wine tasting of labels from the Casa Perini, Cave Feisse, and Salton wineries, in two sessions: the first from 1 pm to 5 pm and the second from 6 pm to 10 pm. Nearly a thousand people circulated the space located in Industry City, Brooklyn, 11232. The actions in Uncle Sam’s territory are made possible by the Wines of Brasil and 100% Grape Juice of Brazil sector projects, developed by the Brazilian Wine Institute (Ibravin) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
The other two events that are set in the United States in the following days are the launch of the Guia Descorchados and the North Fork Crush Wine & Artisanal Food Fest. The former will take place on June 5 at Seconn Floor Events (849 6th Ave, Avenues of America, NY10001), with a tasting of products from the Casa Perini, Cave Geisse, Lidio Carraro, Miolo, Pizzato, and Salton wineries. For the fourth consecutive year, the guide signed by the Chilean journalist Patricio Tápia, who is a reference in the world of wine, features sparkling wines and also, in this edition, still wines elaborated in Brazil.
The Promotion manager of Ibravin, Diego Bertolini, explains that participating in events in New York is justified because it is one of the main wine-consuming centers in the world, in addition to being one of the most cosmopolitan and trend-setting cities. “New York is located in the third state that most consumes sparkling wine in the United States, with nearly two million liters per year. Moreover, the country is one of Wines of Brasil’s target markets and leads wine consumption in the world, with over 31 million hectoliters, according to the most recent data from the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine). For all these reasons, we are concentrating the project’s efforts to become even more present in this market,” he informs.

The sector projects currently rely on the participation of 42 wineries. Their target markets are the United States, United Kingdom, China, and Paraguay. In recent years, nearly 95% of the companies that adhered to the initiatives were able to continue exporting, due to the support and training programs offered and the sector’s work in consolidating the national labels’ image Abroad.
